I have a 96 mariner 40 hp 4cyl oil injection....i recently clipped a wing dam destroying the prop...no other major damage. When it happened the intermittent beeping started. There is 3/4 tank of oil and no visible leaks. Where shud i start troubleshooting first?... thank you

Check the switch - they fail all the time.
If your switch doesn't come out, take off the tank and turn it upside down to see if the alarm goes off.
It's a reed switch with a magnet in a float.

Dunno off the top of my head. Look at the top of the tank - you'll see a short, self tapping phillips screw retaining the switch if it's replaceable. The reed is in a probe that comes straight up and float stays in.

I'll try and remember to look it up at while I'm at the shop today.

Got a serial # ?

Sorry no response, still have to get my notifications set up.
On yours, the switch comes up from the bottom and it is a separate part.
Part number is 87-12886A6 .
