Oil and Fuel lines ?

Hello,

I have a 1997 evinrude 115. I recently noticed that I was getting a bunch of junk in my fuel filter. Originally thought it was sediment in the gas tank but upon further inspection, it looks like the interior of the fuel line from the tank to the motor is breaking apart on the inside. I cut a 1-foot section out and split it apart and instantly saw what was going on.

I'm currently replacing the line from the tank to the motor, but I wanted to know if oil will also break down the line? The hose to the oil tank is right in the same spot, but I'd rather not deal with re-priming the oil system which I'll need to do if I replace that hose. I'm pretty confident that oil wont attack a hose like the ethanol has to my fuel lines, but just wanted to make sure!

Thanks

I agree the oil shouldn't effect the hose, however the fact that it is
14 YRS old it would be a good idea.
You can unhook the oil hose from VRO nipple & plug nipple,
Replace the oil line & pump the line full with oil bulb before hooking
it back up.

If you disconnect the OMS oil line, you need to verify it is bled and supplying oil. Pump as Big Flop recommends and then run six gal of premix until you are sure motor is pulling oil from resevoir.
