So this is my first boat and I'm learning fast... Not really sure how the oil change works though.... From what I gather there should threads on the dip stick and you have to pump it out? I'm not to crazy about that b/c there has to be some left at the bottom of the pan. I do not have the easy drain line.... How hard is it to get to the drain plug. How many quarts of oil and can I get a filter from like autozone???

I used a drill-operated transfer pump ($15 at Sears Hardware) and some extra tubing I had laying around to change mine through the dipstick. I needed a filter socket wrench to change my filter, though - whoever changed it last cranked it on tight and I couldn't budge it with just my hands!

I also read that the marine engine filters are possibly better than the automotive filters, so I ordered the same Sierra oil filter I removed and I was all set.

We just drain the oil from the engine using the drain plug and let it flow up the boats bilge drain. Lift the front of the boat extra high to help it flow out.
On our boat we can reach the drain plug pretty easy.
Once new oil + filter installed, we use a bit of degreaser and clean up remaining oil. Don't get any oil on your carpet ;)
