Hello,

I just had the oil changed at the end of July this year.
Since then I've only put approx. 7-10 hours on the engine.
It's a 1997 merc 3.0LX 135 HP I/O.

Should I change the oil now or in the spring before the first run?

Thanks,

Change it now, so all those bearings in your engine gets new oil to keep them happy all winter.
Any condensation that is formed during the winter will be burned off on the first run of the season.

DonS is spot on. Boats don't die because of wear. They die because of lack of maintenance.

You decided to buy a boat. It can be extremely reliable or a the biggest pain in the @#$ you ever owned. It's YOUR choice.

CHANGE THE OIL.

There is more to it than that. Read your engine owners manual. Follow it.
