oil coming out of blower; cant plane

Okay guys howguys how about this one: I couldn't seem to plane off yesterday and when I slowed down and turned on the blower in the engine hatch I had some type of oil/lube shooting out my blower vent. Any thoughts? Its a bravo one merc 454.

First thing id do is pull the engine cover and look to see what is in the blower hose.
Then go from there.
You really didnt give enough info for a better answer.

Could be anything...motor oil, drive oil, trim oil, steering oil, trim tab oil....

Um, yeah. If you look under the hood, you'll probably find oil EVERYWHERE!!


My first thought.......cracked block. oil level very high.....high enough to cause it to dump most or all of it out the breather tubes.


If you're wondering what the problem is and you have not raised the hood and looked inside.......Your best bet might be to drag the boat over to a Mercury dealer. Bring LOTS of $$$.

If you haven't even looked in the bilge, and it sounds as if you haven't, how could you possibly expect us to diagnose this???????

I'll take a stab at it - the oil is coming from an item in the bilge that is, or used to be, lubricated.

Of course, I looked under the hood and there wasn't oil all over the place. I was just looking for some thoughts here, but all I found was a bunch of *****holes. Last time using this forum.

You provided No Info,+ your post States nothing of Lookin' at the motor....
