Does anyone know if a 1991 4.3 OMC has a oil and power steering cooler that I have to drain for the winter?

Thanks

The power steering cooler is the first place the water goes once it comes in the boat.....
Or you can follow the hose from the pump itself to locate it...
Don't know about an oil cooler.....

Just follow the line like mentioned. I know on my dads Cobra he does have an oil cooler and power steering cooler. Last year we cracked both as we didn't drain them and it got real cold out. He also has the Ford 460. From what I have seen, most smaller boats with smaller engines don't have them. Typically the petcock on the power steering or oil cooler will rust and it won't budge. Mine is that way. What I do is unhook the water line that comes from the power steering cooler and attaches to the thermostat housing. Then I blow through it or you could use compressed air to clear it out.

I just didnt see anything in the manual about draining either of these, all it mentions is the manifolds and block??

You should drain everything that you can. The power steering cooler is so easy to drain, that it would be silly not to.. Any water that freeze's will usually damage something, so get as much water out as possible.

There is no oil cooler on a mercruiser 4.3L V6, I don't know about an OMC 4.3L.

IF the cooler is pointed down just remove the intake hose at the raw water pump. You have to do that to drain the pump and hose anyway.

Does anyone have a pic of these? What should I be looking for? Petcock or just disconnect a hose?

Thanks for the help

Undo the hose, blow through it and you're done.

Undo the BIG hoses, not the little hoses. The little hoses are oil. You won't have one for the engine oil, and if you don't have power steering, you won't have a PS cooler either.

Ok. I assume though thats not the thing in the front of the engine just above the intake manifold?? Should that be down by the power steering pump? Sorry if I sound stupid...I just want to get it right...and I dont have my boat near by me so when I do go out there to work on it I want to make sure I have all the correct info...thanks again.

Actually I do recall taking off a hose that went to something that looked lilke that and then other end went into the thermostat housing on the intake manifold.

This should be at the back of your engine, hose 9 comes from the transom mount into the PS cooler 17 (if you have it) and then hose 32 runs along to the front into the t-stat housing
