Greetings All

Seemed like a simple matter. Just unscrew the filter, take the number to the auto part house and pick up a new filter. Whoa, no listing for mercruiser or quicksilver. On to walmart super center. Even less help there. I had to look it up my self.
It is a older(1988) 140 mercruiser. Just a 4 cylinder Chevy motor. Should be snap to cross and replace.

Can someone help with the cross.
The number on the quicksiver filter is 35-802885Q
Thanks,
Uncle Dave

Re: Oil Filter (help)

Those are very special filters ($85) for the older 140's, you put an automotive filter on there and you will blow every bearing out of it within 1 hour.
Ok, just kidding, it's the same filter as a Chevy 5.7

Hi Don,

Been to a part store lately? Some kid with sheet metal hanging from his nose and one ear. Hair looks to be in curlers. And ask him to look up a mercruiser part number. Reply Duh.

Thanks, I'll try Chevy 5.7 and not mercruiser.
Uncle Dave

PH25 or PH30 if it will fit in the doghouse. Dont like those filters? Most places can cross those numbers.
