Greetings,

This is my first time winterizing my Bayliner 249BD deck boat myself and I've run into a problem trying to locate where they've hidden the oil filter on this beast. The boat has a 5.0L Mercruiser (non-MPI) and for the life of me I can't find where they opted to stash this thing. All of the videos show it upside down on the left or right in easy reach next to the heads....not this one.

If there's a bayliner tech out here that could assist me I'd be forever grateful.

Thanks,

Port side rear of the engine down low where all chevy filters are. If its been relocated with a remote filter, you would just follow the lines for the location where the filter normally attaches to the engine.

Ayuh,... Sounds like yer's didn't get the remote filter up-grade,..

It'll be at the oil filter boss on the block,...
as Bruce said, it's lower aft portside, at the bottom, 'tween the oil pan, 'n flywheel housing...

is yours new? when i first went to change mine(new boat back then) it had a black spray paint/coating on the filter itself...made the thing darn near impossible to see. odly enough, it came with an ACdelco filter, not a merc. and the different filters didn't use the same sized filter cap removal tool.
