I am affraid to tighten it down anymore then i have.

Is this a common issue? It's leaking oil into my bilge.

Do I need to add more of a seal somehow?

And make sure to lubricate the seal with a little oil before installing to help keep it from pinching.

You will get a small amount of oil when you remove it, small.......

It should be leak free with a good hand tighten.

What filter is it?
