Oil From Grease Filled Hub??

One side of my trailer has a small amount of oil in the Bearing Buddy cover each time I remove it. The other side is always completely dry. The hub has never run hot and is due for re-packing anyway but I was wondering what causes the grease to produce oil and if I need to do anything different.

Might be the wrong type of grease, sunlight, or air temp? Water should make gray or milky grease/oil.

This is clear/amber and looks to be 100% oil. The same thing you might find running down the side of a grease gun.

This side has never run hot, the other side runs warmer. I was going to repack this side anyway since I did the other side in the spring. No grease/oil on the inside or outside of the tire, just some oozing out the face of the bearing buddy.

I'll repack it this weekend and post what I find inside.

Thanks

Some dino based greases will weep oil/separate if not mixed regularly by the bearing motion. Your bearing buddy on the dry side has a better seal.

Oil is the light end of grease. One hub is getting warmer than the other, with no water present, I'm assuming.
