oil/gas puddle in mouth of carb

I have a 1986 28SPL and I always have a very little oil/gas puddle at the mouth of the carb. Is this normal?

It's running a lttle rich. Turn the rich/lean needle valve clockwise just a little and see if it helps. New spark plugs would help to.

Hey NEWORLEANS-YAT sorry to piggyback on your topic but sense I was here I thought I would ask oldcatamount about a simular problem I am having with a 1958 18 HP. Johnson, it leaks fuel out of carb. when being choked, could this also be because it is running lean

You will see gas coming out of the carb if you over choke it or something else wrong with mtr causing it not to start right away.
