Right now I am mixing 1 quart of Oil to 12 Gallons of gasoline. Does that sound about right?

My engine smokes a little... sometimes a lot. But for the most part it's okay. How does my mix sound? Too much? Too little?

What brand/size outboard? Most like a 50:1 ratio and you're right about there. What ratio does yours call for? A synthetic or synthetic blend oil will help with the smoking.

It's a 1976 Mercury 1150 115HP... I think it does call for 50:1 but I'm not good at measuring things out like that. I am using Quicksilver oil... I'm not sure about the Synthetic blend though... I'd have to look at the bottle. Thanks for the input!!

Yeah, that's 48:1. If it's an older motor you should be using around 40:1.
