Oil in Water???

Sometimes when I start my boat a black pool of something comes from the exhaust i believe ??? what is this and How do i Correct it??

Hard to say with that little bit of info.
Is it liquid? Shiny? Dull? Rainbows?

Usually you may see some dry looking flat black carbon exhaust float on the water when you start a carbed engine. It's usually from the choke being on and once it opens up it stops.

thats probably what it is then thanks for the info ... when I run my bilge i sometimes get a rainbow from it? also when i start it but rarely

Could this be from the motor running too rich?
