I have a tach with oil indicator lights for my 2003 50 hp TRLB. The plug for the lights is obvious on the back of the tach (four leads for the three lights). What does this plug connect to? I can't find any matching plug on the harness or on the motor. Help!!

There should be a plug from the control box that mates with the tach plug.

I have a 703 control box, I didn't see such a plug. I will re-check. Could it be inside the box? Thanks for reply.

Re: oil indicator lights on tach

There is definately no provision in the control box or wiring harness for these oil lights. I can only assume that there must be a plug-in somewhere on the engine, but I cannot find it. The control box has wiring for PT&T and the tach itself, but not the (optional?) oil warning lights. Can anyone who has these lights working on their tach check and see where they connect to motor?

O/K, if this tach is a new addition to your boat you will probably have to buy the connecting harness, I think the part number is 68F-82553-70-00, this is the main harness between the engine and control box and has the added connection for the oil lights/tach, you then need the short harness between the control box and tach, part number 6Y5-83553-N0-00. Please double check these numbers with the yamaha dealer before ordering, you will also need to tell them how long you need the main harness as there are different lengths available.
