After alot of money check checking found out why I had a no start issue ran great then just back fired and died found that if I take the black with yellow tracer off the switch box which comes from the oil injection pump mod. not the one from the ignition or kill switch (this wire is grounded out and its on the pole for the wire to shut the motor out through the ignition switch by grounding it so by hooking this wire up it kills the motor)the boat starts and runs perfect what would cause this? bad pump? bad mod.? bad motion sensor bad oil pump drive gear?
THANKS

Re: Oil injection mod. problem

If this is the 96 115hp you posted earlier problems about, that is not the oil module but the temp module. It is either shorted or temp sensor is bad telling module engine is hot.The oil pump is not monitered on the inline engines like the V-6. The oil module on this motor only tells you if oil is low in tank....

Re: Oil injection mod. problem

Sounds like someone had a problem with the kidlet ignoring the low oil level warning, so he wired it to kill the motor if it ran low. Let the kidlet row back to the dock.
