oil injection or not

I just bought a 87 bass tracker boat yesterday 6/2/12 it has a mercury 60hp motor serial #00158871 it is marked oil injection is it or do I still mix gas and oil 50:1 if it has oil injection where is oil tank and does it use 2 cycle oil or is there special oil I need thank you for any info you can give me on this motor thanks for the info but I still need to know where oil tank I took engine cowl off but I couldn't find oil tank

Welcome aboard

TCW III 2 stroke oil or the Mercury TCW III will work.

First make sure the oil injection lines and tank are all in place and in good condition.

Fill the fuel tank with 87 octane regular gas.

The mixing will be done by the oil injection system.

Since it's a new rig to you, check the impellar out before you run the boat and BUY a manual for the engine.

Since it is a new engine to you and you do not have any history with it AND since you do not know if the oil injection system is working OR has ingested air: Fill the oil tank to the brim. Run 50-1 gas to oil mix in your fuel tank until you see a noticeable drop in the oil tank level indicating the oil injection system is working. Check to see that no oil lines are broken, causing the level to drop. Then switch to regular gasoline in the fuel tank.
