My alarm is till crying, been running mixed gas.
Any who, today I pulled off the supply line from the pump that goes to the carbs. @ 1500 to 2500 RPMs to check oil flow. after about 3 minutes I got about enough to fill a coke cola cap. Is that right? It has a new gear shaft in it. Pump im thinking. Also How do I adjust the oil flow can i turn it up or is it something thats set by the pump?

Sounds about correct. What engine? Run the engine as you did but at idle (700 rpm) for 15 minutes. How much has it discharged measured in CCs?

Re: Oil injection Pump Flow

Pump is a Variable rate oiler, so at low throttle position, it should be about 100:1 At 3 gph you'd burn about 6 oz. of fuel in 3 minutes. 1:100 of that would be about .06 0z, or about a bottle cap full. (SWAG)

The throttle linkage to pump linkage has an adjustment. There is a line on the oil injection arm that lines up with a mark on the casting at idle.

Assuming we're still talking about the 135. If it hits on all 6, and the green wire to the ignition is connected, and the wires to the oil tank are disconnected, and it still beeps, either the motion detector, it's driving magnet, which is polarity sensitive, or the module itself is bad.

Rotation sensor can be tested easily with a voltmeter.

hope it helps

Yes we still talking about the 135
it has a new Rotation sensor, a new shaft.

I guess I have to break down and get a new modual.
I dont have anything to collect in cc's

Hits on all 6, which coil should the green wire be on. I think its on # 6 at the switch box.
Thanks guys.

Normally it's #2. Shouldn't make a difference. It goes on the wire to the coil, not the trigger.

Pump usually either works perfectly, or shears the gear and doesn't work at all. If the linkage is on the mark, it should be fine.

Before I sprung for a new module, I'd do the testing on the sensor. Wouldn't be the first bad brand new part.

ok, now how do i test it? My lines match up fine.
that modual is $170 wife is not liking that when i just popped $75 for a new oil cap. She's calling it the "SS money pit". LOL.....

There's several pages of setup and troubleshooting information in the shop manual. Best bet would be to go to square zero and dog it down to the part before you spend any more money.

Winter's coming. Motor parts usually go pretty cheap on eBay till spring.

Some folks systematically tear off oil injection systems and have modules under foot. If you can connect, you might be able to get one for shipping, or less. (has happened to me.)

You can use other modules, for instance one off an EFI will work. It's the same durned module with different connectors, and a parallel wire from the oil cap circuit that goes to the water separator. A little solder and heat shrink and it drops on.

hope it helps

You can convert CCs to ounces with an online converter app.

I posted that because that is how the Merc manual says to test it. I never have to doubt mine though. I always monitor my fuel and oil usage. That way I don't have to guess. I know.
