I have oil leaking from a hole in the bottom of the upper unit. If someone could help me with options I would appreciate it

Is there some water with it? Probably just a mid section drain hole and since exhaust gasses contain oil and exhaust is via the mid section, expect to see some of that. Unless it's a 4 stroke you have 2 sources of oil...one is with the fuel, before and after combustion, and the second is the lower unit gear oil, in the prop area.

No. No water. It might be just drain hole. I had the engine on it’s side and oil has definitely leaked from somewhere. However, If the oil has just got inside and is now draining out, then that would explain that leak. But now I have to wonder where it originally came from.

All bets are off if you had it on it's side. I wouldn't worry about it.

If it is 2 cycle oil, I would not worry about it. If it is gear oil, it indicates bad waterpump seals.
