Hi there, I went in to the ocean in my tri hull lake boat. MISTAKE! A swell came over the bow and topped off the interior with hellish salt water. Damn near sank the boat! Luckily my bilge pump was working well and had us empty in about 5 min or so. So now i noticed a that oil started seeping out the rear prop shaft after about 5 days of sitting. I am going out on the lake tomorrow so I hope it wont screw it up. The engine is a evinrude 85 1975. Could this just be a seal?

It could be a seal.It may just be exhaust residue.Look it over closely.Usually if you have a leaky seal the gear lube will be milky.Change it and check it out.
