Oil Leaking

I have a pair of 1995 Merc XRi Black Max 2.5L Offshore EFI outboards.
On the engine mounted oil tanks the oil comes into a small brass "Tee" fitting before going into the top of the oil tank. The bottom of the Tee is open, and on one of my motors this just started dripping oil inside the cowling.
Is this some type of pressure blow off and somthing I can easily replace, or an indicator of something more serious?
Thank you all in advance for any help you can be from a new, just registered member.

Re: Oil Leaking

It is a 2psi check valve designed to keep the system from forming a vaccum. If it is leaking it should be replaced. They are cheap (maybe $12.00) and easy to replace.

Re: Oil Leaking

Thank you VERY MUCH! I was hopefull of a reply like that. I think I'll change them on both motors while I'm at it.
