Oil line

I have a 2000 75 mercury 3 cyl. Where the oil line connects to the gas line then enters the carb, should the oil line be completely filled with oil or is there not much pressure from the oil tank? Mine has a gap in the line, but oil is flowing. Thanks for any info

should not be a problem, i have a 90 merc yr is 03 (same motor) and mine shows a "bubble" or a little larger than a bubble. i have no problems. as long as the oil level in tank drops during use. if you disconected the oil system you bill need to bleed (prime) the system.
