thanks for your reply I had some help from my granddaughter on the double posting. This forum is great I've learned a great deal from reading about other
peoples problems. I'm going to start playing around with these older outboards

1963 is a mature outboard, 50's are older, pre 50 are old. they are fantastic to work on and a great pleasure to me. and that is what grand daughters are for.
