OK, Got 16oz can of sea-foam on the way home today. Mix it with 2 gallons of gas and tcw-3 oil and did the decarb thing 4 times. Sent the neighbors running for the house. :D . I seen lots of black sludge comming out of the exhaust. The motor is ideling smoother now, than it ever has. The real test will be saterday when I hit the lake and tune her in :D .Should I change the plugs again? Or will they be ok, I just put them in 2 weeks ago. I will let you guys know how it runs saterday. Thanks, Joe

The big boys say that once you do the drastic decarb, change them after the neighbors can breathe....in other words, once the crud has flushed out.

Mark

Do you see a black streak running down the driveway and gutter??? :D :D \\

I would change them, or at least clean them up, depending on their condition...

What do they look like? Mine looked pretty clean after my last decarb, but it wean't really all that carboned up.

I must have missed the first part. What's with the mix here? Did you mix the Sea Foam, Gas, and TCW 3 together and run the concentrated mix alone through the outboard?

Yes he did, but I would have only used 3/4 gal of gas and run about 4, 15 minute cycles until the mixture is gone.

Plugs should be clean. Pull one and check. Normaly a decarb will clean the plugs also.
It should start, idle and run better now. I have had great results with a dose of seafoam.
Good Luck on the lake this weekend, Tim

Well guys I looked at the plugs they dont look bad at all nice and clean. But hears the deal I have 3/4 of a tank of gas that is mixed with the weed eater oil still in the boat. So I'm going to finish that off tomarrow and fill it up and mix the tcw-3 in and do another decarb, and put new plugs in and see what I got after that. Gas is to high to pump it out. 2.97 to 3.02 for regular around here,it has went up 10 cent in 8 hrs. Will update you guys on how it runs tommarow. Thanks, Joe

Re: oil mix / sea-foam update

All right guys, I'm getting some where now. Got to the lake this morning. On the first start it still smoked alot and is still a little rough on the idel. But it still was running on the weed eater oil mix. But over all it's running alot smoother. :) For the first time ever when I nail it on take off it screemes open and takes off. :D It even sounds alot better at WOT. For the $6.00 I spent on the sea foam it was well worth it. This is the best this thing has ever run. I'm going to pump the rest of the weed eater mix out and put the right stuff in and that might help smooth the idel out. "I think it will anyway" Thanks again guy. Joe

Happy to hear the report. The old gas will run great in your lawnmower if you have one.

Re: oil mix / sea-foam update

(Mistylady) If you have a water, fuel seperator on the fuel line take it loose there. Make sure you have the bulb to prime it up with. Mix oil,gas and sea foam in a 1 gallon gas can stick the hose in it and let run for 15 min and let it set for 15min. repeat this 4 times. 1 gallon will be enough to do it 4 times.Good luck, Joe
