oil or grease and impeller evinrude (old)

good day all: i have a 1947 #4423 evinrude 3.3 sportwin,and was wondering what to use in the lower unit 90w or grease. if grease can anyone tell me what its called and the viscosity.<br />also when i removed the lower unit i noticed the impeller, there are 2 of them separated by a round a round disk with four holes in it.does this sound correct.and how long are the arms on the impeller supposed to be?should they contact the inside of the housing?<br />any help would be greatly apprieciated.<br />thanks all Z

Hi, Z.<br /><br />Use 90W hypoid oil in the foot. Buy it in tubes marked for outboard use.<br /><br />If you have to ask about the impeller, replace it. Normal life on one of those is 1 year, whether used or not.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

hi im having a hard time finding parts for this old motor up here in canada.any ideas?also the impeller on this motor supposed to be in two identical pieces( upper and lower impeller).<br />thanks Z
