Does anyone know the wrench / socket size required for the oil pan drain plug on a AQ125A?

I just checked too...yup, at least one inch. I had a 3/4 and a 22 mm. on it, definitely way bigger. I don't have any bigger tools at home to get more accurate. :-(

Hey, thanks much for your help. I suspected so when my largest (15/16) did not fit, but wondered if it was a metric something before I go buy one.
Happy Boating! :)

It probably is metric, but who's watching.:p

How are you catching the oil? Whats your method?

I used to buy a handly little package sold at the autoparts store-basically a flat cardboard box about 1' square with a plastic liner and material inside to absorb the oil. Couldn't find one so I went with the foil roasting pan with a kitchen garbage bag for the liner. Somehow I partially missed the edge of the pan (are you smiling yet), put about two quarts in the catch pan, 2 quarts in the bilge, one of which flowed out the drain to the garage floor (now are you lol?). Thankfully, my wife was busy elsewhere and I had it cleaned up before she showed up - whew! I think this method would work -- just gotta be more careful with the catch pan placement. Took the filter off with a zip lock bag around it -- that part went well.

That sounds way more complicated and "riskier" than pumping it out thru the dipstick tube, any reason that would not work? just curious....

I figured since it has a drain plug, it was meant to be "drained" thus removing all of the old oil and whatever bad stuff might be in the bottom of the pan. If there is a good system / tool out there that will do the job via the stick tube with less risk and opportunity for screw up, I'd love to learn about it. The AQ125A has got a pretty skinny stick tube.

I use a vacuum type unit, you pump it up then let it pull the oil out thru the dipstick and into the tank. It has clear pliable tube and also a hard plastic line that is thin, a rubber tube adapts the smaller line into the larger clear tube. The hard plastic line is thin enough to go thru the dipstick tube on my engine (1991 Volvo 5.7 V8), and the tube on my engine is just big enough to hold the dipstick. The dipstick tube on my engine extends to near the bottom of the oil pan by design just for this purpose, I can hear and feel the small hard plastic line hit the bottom of the pan.

I got it at Tractor Supply for $40 or so.....:
