I am in the process of rebuilding a late 60's Mercruiser 160HP 250cui GM IL6. I am up to the point of installing the oil pan gasket. The new gasket came in 4 pieces. The side pieces are felt and the end pieces are rubber. The end pieces seem to overlap the side pieces? Should I trim the felt so the 2 pieces meet and use a sealer?
I am confused at this point. I don't want to make an error and have a leak! Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.....
