What should the idle / running oil pressure be? It is around 30 idle and really doesn't move on the water running unless the guage is bad. Boat still isn't running correctly and it has all new parts. Virtually a new motor. I know it has to be an adjustment or something I have overlooked.

I noticed that once the motor warms up it has an oil drip behind the timing gear. Looks like from the oil pan gasket. Would this effect the oil pressure and performance?

I rebuilt the carb last fall. I took it apart to inspect it yesterday and changed the float from the plastic one to a brass one. What's another $6 at this point! Marina said the plastic ones can deteriorate over long periods of time from the gas. It did look a little rough. Set it to specs which are 3/8" upside down, 1 3/32" dropped.

What are symptoms of the float not being adjusted correctly?

I am getting truly frustrated that I can't fix or find anyone that can get this motor running right. This boat is absolutely beautiful for an 85'!! Motor and outdrive are super clean too!! About to scrap the boat and just get what I can for it.

Here is my other thread for more info on what I have done.

Ayuh,... 10 psi per 1000 rpms is within spec....
I'd suspect the gauge, or sender...

Nope, only if it's Over-filled...

It'll be overly Rich, or overly Lean...
Battery stays strong @ 12.4v -12.6v running.
Runnin',..?? Runnin' you should be seein' 13.6 volts...
My engine temp gauge isn't working
Fix it or replace it,... It's Important to know...
I have even taken it in twice for the "pros" to look at it.
First Marina said it was a carb setting
Took it to another Marina. Another $150 and they said the same thing.

I agree, it sounds like a fuel delivery issue...
Hook up a portable fuel tank to the fuel pump, 'n try it...
That'll tell ya whether the tank ain't given up it's fuel, or not...
Then check the fuel pump's pressure, 'n output volume...
