Oil pressure question

When accelerating my gauge reads almost 8 but goes down a little when cruising .
Is this normal ?

There are as many variables as there are motors.For that sender that could be normal.As long as the sender is working you are ok.If it goes down a lot change it.Most guages read in #s my Mercruiser reads 40-60# running and 20# at idle.Jerry
