Re: oil ratio??

The ratio for that motor is 50:1. If you can give us the model number off the tag near the transom mount, we can tell you what year it is. It is one of the Eska-based water-cooled, two-cylinder outboards. Tecumseh engine. Tillotson carburetor with fuel pump built into the carburetor.

When they're running, they're nice, powerful, lightweight outboards. One tip: Never, Never, EVER, turn that engine over with the little wires on the coils mounted to the cylinder head disconnected from the coils. That will instantly destroy the solid state ignition module, for which there are no available parts.

www.searspartsdirect.com has some parts for your engine. You need the model number, which starts with 217 to access the exploded parts diagrams and parts lists on that site.

Other parts are available through www.certifiedpartscorp.com. You must call the number on that web site, with your model number in hand to access parts for your outboard.

Yup, that's a 1986 model...the last year of production for Eska. If you need parts, your best bet is going to be www.certifiedpartscorp.com.

You should baby that motor, due to the difficulty of parts availability. Be especially careful with the ignition system, since those parts are simply not available. Follow the advice I gave you in the previous message.
