Oil Shelf Life

Quick Question...with the boating season winding down for us up North what is the shelf life of Mercruiser Oil. I bought a 4qr jug in the spring for a potential oil top off I didnt need. The jug has sat unopened in a garage. Is it still okay to use for my fall oil change? Want to confirm. TIA
