1.7 gallon Johnson oil tank with brown and black wires coming out. I just finished installing a 2001 Johnson 115HP and am down to hooking up the oil tank and gas tanks. The monitor beeps normal and the "NO OIL" light isn't on. Any idea where these wires connect to?

Look real closely at your mtr and you should find a plug with the same color code where these wires plug into.

As soon as it stops raining I'll take a look at the motor for matching wires. However, without splicing, I'm pretty sure there are no unconnected wires or plug receptacles.

I found a plug with a brown w/ black stripe and a black wire. It's towards the rear of the motor with the rest of the plugs. Wires coming out of the tank are brown and black. I also found a heavy gauge red wire, but am pretty certain that's not it.

Plug the brown wires together and see what happens. They should be your low oil warning.
