Forgive lack of search as I’m out on the water.

2005 5.0L MPI

Getting check engine alert. Below about 750 rpm stalls. Going to Neutral stalls. If I feel it stalling, I can hit throttle and save it. Runs fine other than that. All vitals seem fine but oil temp reads 32 degree F on little tach screen. It’s like 75-80 degrees out.

Is it oil temp sender?

where is sender? Any pics/diagrams? Tips?

if not sender, any thoughts?

If your looking at smartcraft then the gauge is not present.

As far as you issue, I will need more info, but initial I'm thinking the IAC needs cleaned if not replaced

Yes Smartcraft. So it always reads 32F and has no sender? Would dirty IAC cause check engine warning? Seemed to happen all of a sudden. Light and stall at neutral.

I would love to think it’s that easy. I’m guessing a can of MAF cleaner, remove arrestor, find throttle body, spray **** out of blades and into IAC holes?

I would suggest, removing the IAC, clean it gently, then reinstall

Fixed!!! Thanks!!! As a reference, 3/16” Allen socket.

Cleaning didn’t work. Had to replace. Used
a $45 auto part for ‘02 Ford Windstar instead of $178 from marine dealer. Hopefully both are spark proof
as I assume.

Thanks again.

You're good/safe to go with the auto IAC.

A 32 degree reading is normally just a default setting range a scanner system see when a sensor isn't connected. Your engine doesn't offer a oil temp sensor from new nor I don't believe there is one to buy and install that connects to the stock MPI/ECM component features.........Easily anyways!!

Glad you were able to get it running normal once again.

It was only my 3rd or 4th trip with this boat or any boat with Smartcraft gauge so I guess I never noticed the 32F reading before. Normally I would have thought of IAC but I assumed the 32 degree reading was definitely the smoking gun. This IAC was clean as new but simply failed. Working one minute, dead the next with a Check Engine alarm.

Glad and you guys were here to point me in the correct direction.

That's the standard mode of failure for most electrical/electronic components... They either work, or they don't. :D (and yes, I have used the $45 IAC from a car shop too... it's the SAME part, without the 'marine tax')....

Chris.......
