Oil / Temp alarm add-on?

I have a 1995 Mercury 60hp 2 stroke Bigfoot (that's a mouthful). It came on a boat I bought used. It runs fine, but I don't think it has a working oil/temp alarm. When I turn the key, there's no chirp (my other boat has the alarm and chirps, I'm assuming it's supposed to?). So I have two questions - How do I determine if the alarms are on the motor, and if they're not there, how do I add them?

There may be a test button that you have to press on that motor to make it chirp so you know it's working. The motor would need the alarm module to do the turn on chirp thing. I think the bigger motors came with it. BTW, the alarm buzzer is not on the motor, it's either under the dash or in the throttle/shifter.
