oil type advice

Hello all,

I have OMC 1985 5L.
My owner manual says to use OMC Hi-Vis Gearcase Lube however I don't have any OMC dealers close by. What oil can I use instead?

Well,..........

You Could fill it up with a standard EP 80W-90,.... As so known as Rear-End Grease.........

Or,..... You could go buy some of the same oil in a plastic bottle that says Marine on it,... For Twice the Money..........

Or,......... What I use,......
Mobil 1, 75W-90,.... Ful-Syn gear oil........

Any of the Off the Shelf Gear Lubes in a 90W or so will Work,...
Just Fine...............

CRC high vis gear lube is supposed to be the direct replacement for OMC...Sold at Napa, they had to order mine..
But like Bondo says..Mobile 1 is good too..
