Oil type?

What weight and amount of oil is needed for
a 96 fourwinns with a ford 5.0 Volvo-penta?

Depends on temperature range where you use the boat.

A good automotive oil. 10-40 to 20-50W 20-50 for higher local temps.

Should take 5 qts. (with a filter) but put in 4 and check level.

i've got a 1995 cobra 5.0 fl that i filled with napa's brand of 30w detergent oil (which it calls for). i drained it using a drill pump-not the best but anyhow... i took out about 4 1/2 qts of oil + the amt. in the oil filter so i only put in the 4 1/2 qts back in and will see where i end up on dipstick...(jimmy)!

Probably 1/2qt low, unless you pre filled the filter.
