Hello,
I have a 2001 5.7 L Volvo Penta. Then Manual calls for 30W Synthetic Dura Plus by Volvo. If I can't find that brand, what would you recommend?
Thanks

synthetic 15W40, 10W30, 25W40 or something within that viscosity chart for your climate ( these cover most spring/ summer climates ) will work for you.... It's not going to hurt to use automotive oil

I'm always leery of synthetic blend. Like what exactly is the blend? 5% synthetic? 50% synthetic? I either just use conventional or full synthetic.

Volvo used to Specify Full Synthetic SAE30
Looking in the Volvo Service Manual(2002), they do recommend the Volvo Oil, but do list

Temperature Viscosity
32° F (0° C) + SAE 30*
SAE 20W/50
SAE 15W/50
0° F (-18° C) – 32° F (0° C) SAE 20W-20
Below -0° F (-18° C) SAE 10W

I know about 2012 they did switch to using a either a 10W-40 or 15W-40, and I did see the Bulletin, but don't have Access to it
