Wondering if anyone might have some insight. 1997 mariner 150 mag 3. Oil alarm is going off but it’s extremely intermittent. Usually have to run it 15 minutes or so before it starts. I have checked oil reservoir is full and checked leads from cap no continuity when alarm is sounding. Checked oil outflow of pump. With linkage arm disconnected at 1500rpm got just shy of 20 cc of oil which is in spect. So it seems injection is working. Tested voltage to cylinder # 4 with dva and voltage in range. I disconnected rotation sensor from warning module while alarm was sounding and it continued (not sure if this would show anything anyway). I have tested power to warning module it’s got 12 volts. The only thing I haven’t done is check rotational sensor for voltage output and drop every two revolutions. I just hate to start buying warning modules and whatever other electronics up the chain chasing a gremlin. Thought I’d lob it out and see if anyone has had similar trouble. Sifting through the World Wide Web I’ve seen everything from stator to switch boxes, warning modules, coils. The fact it seems random and maybe heat related due to the fact takes awhile to get going. The horn comes and goes sometimes stays on. Sometimes will sound when motor isn’t even running after it’s been going off.

its only got "two alarms".. oiler related and over temp.. (1) over heat will be a solid, continuous buzzer.. is in no way associated with oiler stuff other than "sharing" tha buzzer.. it will stay on until tha motor cools and tha key is on..

(2) oiler related will be a rapid, continuous rhythmic beeping.. that's tha sole purpose of tha oiler module is to produce tha self check beeps and produce oscillating beeps... there is ony 2 sensor for oiler alarm.. low oil (motor tank cap) and rotation'.. rotation stuff is kinda "iffy" with alarm.

do you get tha "self check" beeps when key is turned on?.. does it alarm with and/or without motor runnin? is tha "beepin' in a rhythm or jus random interment?

NOTHING ELSE ON THA MOTOR WILL CAUSE WHAT YA SEEIN'.....

sounds like ya have all this covered by tha way ya describe so i'm kinda goin' out on limb and guess ya have a module goin' south..... jmo.

motor is gettin' some age on it and might be gettin' time ta consider doin' tha pre-mix thing...

Following this. I had the BEEP BEEP BEEP start last Thursday. I was out on the bay 20 minutes from the boat ramp.Told my fishing partner we were either gonna have a 20 minute ride or a very long ride. 20 minutes later we're at the ramp, motor running fine still. quit beeping. Since I didn't fry the motor and the reservoir cap sensor checks good, gotta be oil pump sensor. New sensor will be here Thursday. 1995 Mercury Black Max 150hp
