1986 force 125hp
model-1258F6A
seriel-1253

When you look under the cavitation plate, you see 3 mounting bolts. 3 on each side of the gearcase. On the port side of the gearcase, on the front and back side of the mounting bolt closest to the transom, there is a 1/8 th inch hole drilled. The third hole being in back of the third mounting bolt.
On the starbord side there are also three holes drilled. One is located next to the back mounting bolt and the other two are on either side of the third mounting bolt. Just opposite of the port side holes.
The holes are drilled up, parrell to the mounting bolts, into the cavities in the gearcase.
When I got home from the river last weekend, I cleaned everything up and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I had to go out of town for the week, and when I got back, I found what appears to be oil weeping from the two holes that are closest to the transom. One hole on each side of the gearcase. I have changed my L/U oil and see no water. What to look for? Do you think it is just seals? I have looked page by page in the manual and can't find anything on these holes Or what they would be for.

Any advise is always much appriciated.

It's usually unburnded gas/oil residual. You can change out the lower unit oil and if no water is present fo-getta-boutit.

Re: Oil weeping from lower unit (Force 125)

I had cleaned around the carbs and engine area about a week ago. Most of the liquid went into the housing. If I am getting you right, this is what I am probably seeing finaly getting to the weep holes. Thanks for the help and now
"PEACE OF MIND".
