Hi Everyone,

I'm getting a black oily goo coming out this cooling hole. Is that normal? The same goo is coming out the middle of the prop. It comes out after I stop my motor and things drain.

Its the little hole almost in the center of the picture.

The exhaust and any unburnt fuel exits through the lower unit.
As does the cooling water.
They share a common space in the leg and lower unit.

The weep holes are there to make sure any residual water drains out, so it can't freeze and crack the housing.

So yes, this is all normal.

Thats a drain hole. Smell the oil and in 99% it is unburned fuel from the exhauset. There is no problem smelling the different between unburned fuel and gearoil. Unburned fuel smells fuel. If it is fuel do not worry. It is normal.
