It's not Gulvit it's Gluvit...

Used to seal the interior rivets and seams of Aluminum boats

can you use it on bolts when you replace a transom or use silicone

I'd recommend 3M 4200 Marine Sealant for installing bolts and other hardware into a transom. I never use silicone on a boat.

WOG got you covered on the Gluvit and Coat-It. Both are good and as Wood said, Coat-It is a wee bit cheaper. One thing to watch for if you use them and there is any sun exposure, they have to be painted over. UV destroys the stuff and under decking is no problem..

You'll be adding a few more words to your vocabulary as you move through the resto.
