It pumps great ,my new tell-tail is working just fine(Thanks baxtr) I noticed water comming out of the holes in the LU , drain holes I think , there are 3 on each side next to the LU bolts. Is this normal? I never noticed it before. Oh yea its an 86 125

The new houseing came with the rubber seal for the shaft and a gasket under the plate. All is sealed. Didnt have an 'O' ring comming off or in the kit.

Water volume increases with higher RPMs also.

Yeah! Since the lower unit is always in the water thus always has water in it, and since there are some webs in it that don't let water drain out when the engine is removed from the water, there are several weep or drain holes in the lower unit--could be either two or three on each side under the cavitation plate, about 1/8 inch in diameter.

Specifically, these drain holes drain the two cavities on each side of the water pump assembly.

Frank, I know there drain holes but should they have water running from them when its not in the water . I only see the water draining from them when the motor is running with the flush muffs on.

I haven't noticed it before And was just making sure there wasent something I missed when putting the LU back on.

The copper tube was linded up and slid in place with no binding at all on the teflon fitting on the pump houseing.

Re: OK Force Fans ,I have a question

When running on muffs, the pump is still working. There is a small weep hole on the pump housing which always squirts out some water. Additionally, water is blown out with the exhaust. In short, even when running on muffs, there is a lot of water in this area.
If you look closely you will see that these cavities are not separate from the exhaust path. Thus they can get some water in them and I would not be surprised to also see a little unburned engine oil draining down the leg.

Thank You Frank. Thats what I was wondering . It seems the reason I never notice before was because the old impeller houseing little wheep hole was pluged . I did see the hole in the new houseing.

Thanks again Frank.
