Ok, Heading to the river this past weeked with my boat and my friend with his new boat. This was the first time he has had his boat out, so he just asked if i could go along at the same time to "help out." Well he gets in the boat after we are all ready, i back the boat down the ramp and he is having problems getting it started. I put the truck in first gear, put the parking brake on and jump out. he gets it started and i have to give the boat a little shove to get it off the trailer. Well, apparently the parking brake doesn't work, and the transmission isn't holding the truck. I jump out of the way just as the truck passes me into the river. I frantically try to jump in the truck, slip on the slippery ramp and there i go into the drink. Luckily the truck stops with the water only up to about the tailgate and i manage to pop it in four wheel drive, rev the heck out of the motor to make sure the exhaust can get out so it doesn't kill, and pulled everything out of the river. Lucky for me there were plently of wittnesses around so i felt like a complete idiot. Best thing was, after that successful launching, we still had my boat to launch, needless to say, everyone around watched us pretty close when the saw me jump in another truck to launch another boat. Luckily that one went smoothly. Oh and i guess i should also say that later in the day, as i was getting something out of one of my hatches, i took one step too far backwards on the rear fishing platform! Need i say more! **** fishing platforms on bassboats are great for fishing, but there sure isn't anything there to catch you if you stumble. <br /><br />Steve
