Ok I screwed up Help Please

Ok I have 1970 115 evinrude which before this afternoon ran great. Well I ran the battary down today and I carry a spare when I hooked it up I wasn't paying attention and hooke up the Cables backwards now have no power what so ever no crank nothing and I have no idea where to start looking to try to fix this. I know its electrical Duh and I caused it but where to start diagnosing Im at a loss

Any help would be great.

There is a fuse in a red inline holder near the start solenoid. AGA-20. Get two and tape one nearby for a spare. Then get yourself a new rectifier cuz it blew.
