I guess you all are like family, so if you want to follow the auction on the Elcamino, here is the link. I think I design a pretty good auction page also.<br /><br />Elcamino Ebay Auction

Good auction, LubeDude. You are quite the well rounded 'dude. Good luck with it. If I were a Cheby guy, and if I didn't have to replace my stolen boat motor, I might toss in a bid.

I like it. Great auction set up and very honest. I am sure you will get what you are asking. Be patient and it will happen. Humor the idiot e-mails you will get such as "what's the reserve....what's the least you will take?"<br /><br />I have done quite a few car auctions for a car dealer. Yours will work.<br /><br />Best of luck. Thanks for the link.<br /><br />Bob

I like it Dude. The best Dumb "ask seller a question" I ever got was ..." If you end the auction now, I will pay you more then you will ever get on eBay" :D

Yes, I have had that one also, The best one I ever got was "What color is the car" When there were pictures of it everywhere. It was red, and I emailed him back and told him it was green. :D

You've offered a car on ebay before LD? How did it go?

Yes I listed an RX/7 for a freind that had a blown engine, it was a turbo model and it brought $1,850.00, which was about 400 more that he would have taken, so it went well.

Awesome job on the resto. That thing is beautiful now! What are you using to get a shine like that on the exterior?

Actually the reserve is set at $7,000.00, looks like thats not going to be a problem. I set it a bit low as I feel that when it hits the reserve people will know that there bid from there on could win the car so Im hoping to get it met in the next day or two so the actual bidding can go on.

Its a long time product called elbow grease, Im sure you have heard of it. :D Actually I buffed it with Perfectit by 3M with a foam pad, and then Carnuba waxed it by hand twice. The wife helped.

What rpm do you buff it at LD? I bought a buffer to do my son's pontiac with but I'm afraid to use it. I really ought to color sand it down abit, but would rather just buff it to increase the shine. It's not a perfect paint job but it's only an 87 econobox.

That is a good looking vehicle!<br /><br />Is Holden a Ford product, Triton? And if so, are they still using the 5.0L Windsor pushrod motor in Australia?

The same vehicle (tritons pic) is now available as a 4 door all wheel drive 350hp - awesome.<br /><br />Holden is the Aussie arm of GM, its called G.M.H (general motors holden) here. The 2 door coupe version is exported to the U.S. as the pontiac something (I can't remember).<br /><br />Fords' windsor disappeared years ago. EDIT: I see where you're going with this - plenty of 5.0ltr winsors to be had in the wrecking yards here. You want I make some enquires?<br /><br />Aldo

I'm sure the exchange rate would be in my favor but the freight would kill me! :D <br /><br />Still working on recovering mine, however. I'm hoping against hope but.... A final report is due from the Private Detective soon. I don't bug him but I'm hoping he's got some interesting leads in the works.<br /><br />BTW, just noticed. The above picture was either taken in the mirror OR da steering wheel is on the wrong side. :p Mebee it has somethin to do with the direction the water swirls down the drain, Downunder, huh? ;)

I think it was numero uno. The title was just Mad Max. It ended with Mel handing the bad guy the hacksaw and telling him it would take 10 minutes to cut the handcuffs or 5 minutes to cut off his ankle. :D <br /><br />I'd seen the end of it before but not the beginning. Mel Gibson about looked like a teenager in it. Still wet behind the ears, anyway. His car looked like a miniature 60's Chevy Suburban.
