ok, I'm stuck

I have a 74 chrysler 55 h.p. finally got her purring, (I messed up the wires) but i was going at it blind, (my dad is awesome) however I can't figure out why I still cannot get water to the head, I have flow through the system put the hose to everything with T-stat out, new impellar housing is good, no pits...next step is????

Not sure if you are saying it circulates with the hose but not the pump or what?
Check the intake,Check for passages blocked with debris(sand etc) or bits of old impeller.Be sure the pipe to the powerhead is connected correctly..
If tank testing the pump needs to be below water level.

Chryslers dont work well with standard water muffs. I would use a test tank. Water coming out will be a sputter not a nice flow like newer motors have. If not verify that that impeller is sitting on the impeller key, The vanes on the impeller are going the corrrect way and that the water pump is not pitted. Before installing lower unit I would install the water tube to the powerhead. It should stay on its own without falling. With lower unit off and water tube attached try back washing the system by sticking the hose in the thermostat hole and watch for water coming back out the water tube.

Thanks for the input guys , REALLY appreciate the input. Did what you said still nothing....so Then I got torqued off put her in the water and Viola!!(lol) we have water, thanks again guys,
