What year and what engine?

Did you disconnect the battery ends before removing the starter wires?

Main circuit breaker tripped?

Attach the 12v switched wire to the correct solenoid valve terminal?

A digital multi meter with screw on aligator clips that screw on the end of the test leads will help diagnosis this. Ground the black lead to the engine block, and test both the main terminal on the starter as well as the switched power terminal to the solenoid.
With the aligator clips attached you can do this alone, position the meter so you can see it from the helm, when you turn the key to start look at the meter see if 12v shows on the meter.

Well I feel stupid. ALWAYS ALWAYS check the simplest, smallest, easiest thing first. I was about to follow the starting system troubleshooting guide posted in the FAQ section when I pulled the ignition fuse and saw that it was blown. Popped a new one in and she started up like a champ. Hopefully I'll get to take her out a couple more times before the off-season.
