ok to run at WOT?

hi, i have a 1988 johnson 50 vro in very good order that is well maintained. i am running on premix with the vro disconnected. is it ok to run her at wot (5500 rpm) for 10 - 15 mins at a time or should i keep below this? many thanks in advance, taz.

as long as your Mix is proper, and the motor is in good shape from a mecanical standpoint,, Yes, its not only ok to run it at WOT, most small motors like that are designed to run WOT. I will point out here,, I do not know the specific RPM specifications of your motor, But so long as you dont excede them wile WOT you are fine. 5 too 6k sounds about right,, maybe even as high as 6.5k on a 50. my 15 johnson claims to be rated at 6.5k as max RPM.<br /><br />good luck
