Ok To Use Mobil 1 Oil filter?

2008 5.7L 300 Hp Merc Alpha 1. Just want to know whether I can use a Mobil 1 oil filter in a pinch. I have remote oil set up.

I had a boat guy tell me the only requirement for an oil filter is that it has to be 'anti-siphon' and I thought, that sounded exotic. Then he went on to say that most (all?) automotive oil filters are anti-siphon.

Sure, its as good as most, although Wix is probabbly the best.

Recently read a test on oil filters and the Mobil 1 was one of the top 4 filters along with AC Delco Duraguard,Wix,and Napa Gold (which is made by Wix).

As long as its the right one for your application, you can use it. There is nothing exotic about marine engine oil filters, other than the fact they cost double what the same thing in automotive trim costs. I run Delco filters on mine.
