Sea King was a product of OMC. Made a lot of engines in the 50-60 time line. Any engine from that era has to be questionable in terms of what has the test of time done to it. On that HP engine you aren't dealing with a lot of $$$. I wouldn't expect miracles in attempting to sell it.

It was made in 1948 by Gale Products Division of OMC. You probably know about the other OMC outboards---Johnson and Evinrude. If you want to sell it, I would suggest you place a free ad on the Webvertize Classified ads pages at the Antique Outboard Club's website, www.aomci.org The 1.5hp is kind of popular among those guys.

If you are asking value, of course it depends on condition, and whatever you and the buyer can agree on. A parts motor might be worth $10, and an outstanding unrestored one $100.

You forgot a "0" in the model number -- that is a 1949-50 1.5hp. Montgomery Wards "Sea King"

I paid $80.00 for a 70s era 'Rude 2hp. My motor starts on 2nd or 3rd pull, but it's still an "old motor". Someone would probably give more, maybe, that's looking for that particular vintage. But, the main reason for "lower value" is HP. The little ones, like mine, just don't have a great "niche".
