I dropped my boat off at the shop for the smart tab installation. they called me today to ask me where i want them installed.. I thought it was a foolish question till i got there. The tabs are the ST1290 80 lb. the problem is the flat portion of the transom is only about 8 to 12". Where you see the black line, the transom rounds out and curls up behind the swim platform. The brackets need more room. Do you think it is a problem to put the tab between the tie down strap and the swim platform bracket?

anyway i know its a terrible description but maybe someone knows what I am talking about. let me know what other info i can give

Another thing i noticed is there are no adjustment spots on the brackets. Is this because its the largest bracket for this size boat? automatically set to the highest setting?

The transom of my boat is almost identical to yours, and I have a dive platform as well, however it is smaller and fits on the left hand side. I installed my tabs between the first chine and the edge of the transom, closer to the sides of the boat. That put the tabs on an angle. The top of the shock had enough clearance to mount after I dropped my swim platform, then re-installed.
I did place a call to Nauticus to confirm the installation.
Have you looked at some sample installs? Heree's a link.
Also these tabs are everything if not more than what they are made out to be.

This is what I had to do on my boat, 1290-60. They do everything advertised and I would install them on another boat. They are worth every dollar I paid and then some. Call John and talk to him, 800-233-0194 .
